Giving back while Living the Dream
The most fun you can have doing charity work
Last year 2010 I was asked by some friends I meet on Bloodydecks.com to be the primary graphic desinger for the Washington Tuna Classic. The WTC is a fishing tournament founded by 4 Washington every day joes that wanted to give back and have fun. So they hosted a Tuna Tournament that raises money for the Wounded Warriors project and donates food to Northwest Harvest a local food bank for homeless and needy. Last year we donated 7056 lbs of tuna and 1525 lbs of dry goods for Northwest Harvest and sent 20 wounded warriors out fishing for salmon and tuna. This year I took on the challenge of being in charge of all marketing and also started a program called Rods For Warriors. RFW is custom designing 40 rods by some of the worlds premire rod builders to donate to the wounded service men that come to our tournement. I am also have the task of raising money for the tournement throught donations from local sporting goods vendors. Man it feels so good to go fishing and know that at the same time you are helping some one else out
